In 2003, building on decades of experience in aluminum and lightweight construction and in particular in the construction of interior and exterior systems for commercial vehicles, the long-established German company Hymer-Leichtmetallbau founded the Farhym joint venture in cooperation with Farplas – a leading Turkish automotive supplier.
In the years that followed, Farhym, based in Ankara, was able to establish itself as a leading systems supplier to the automotive industry, both on the Turkish and international markets.
Already in 2004, additional production capacities were created with an additional location in Adana (Turkey). Extensive investments to modernize and expand the headquarters in Ankara followed after the Adana site was closed in 2023.
With a focus on strategic growth, the Hymer-Leichtmetallbau Group took over a further 50% of the shares in Farhym at the beginning of 2016 and has since been the sole shareholder. In the course of this new chapter for Farhym, the production area at the Ankara plant was doubled to 10,000 m2.
In 2018, Farhym celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and was able to complete the construction of an additional paint shop built according to EN standards and the latest technology. An additional paint shop was added in 2023.
In 2023 the 20th anniversary is going to be celebrated with a large number of customers and suppliers.
